The new Star Trek Into Darkness trailer begins the same way the earlier five trailers began—with Benedict Cumberbatch launching into his whole “You think your world is safe” spiel, followed by shots of a futuristic London coming under attack.
But if you stick with it, you get to some some new footage, like a shot of Benedict Cumberbatch launching a Godfather Part III style aerial assault on a Star Fleet meeting from a hovercraft, and a- ….oh wait, that’s basically it.
Still, the Godfather Part III homage is pretty cool. Let’s just hope that that’s the only seen from The Godfather Part III that J.J. Abrams decided to recreate, because the rest of that movie was pretty terrible.
